Ars Technic’s French-language website will no longer publish French-themed content

In August, Ars Technics announced that the French-centric French site Ars Technique would no longer be a part of the company’s editorial operations, citing an increasingly hostile environment and a growing number of anti-social media and cyberbullying campaigns.

Ars Technicas news coverage of the time, the site’s announcement said, had been a “terrible place” to be.

The announcement was met with a torrent of criticism, with many claiming that Ars Techniques coverage of politics and the arts had been too partisan, too uncritical, and even “offensive” to its readers.

Ars’s news coverage was, at best, too neutral, and at worst, it was “politically incorrect.”
